Supporting The Salvation Army Kettle Campaign

From its inception in 1882, The Salvation Army has grown into the largest non-governmental direct provider of social services in Canada. Each year The Salvation Army brings hope to thousands of families by providing food, clothing and practical assistance.

The Christmas Kettle Campaign is the most notable Salvation Army fundraising initiative each year. The Kettle has become a symbol of charitable giving during the Christmas season around the globe. It is just as important today as it was 100 years ago when Captain McFee first collected donations in a kettle pot and used the funds to serve a Christmas meal to the poor. Today your donations fund our Community and Family Services programs, such as our emergency food bank, and they send children to summer camp. The donations also fund our Emergency Disaster Services program and support our community food line. Last year more than 35 Kettles were attended by hundreds of Bell Ringers across the National Capital Region. They raised more than $600,000.  Your support is an opportunity for your company to be seen as the caring community partner that it is.

Did you know?

  • The donations you make in Ottawa stay in Ottawa.
  • Your donations fund numerous services, which bring help to many people within the Ottawa community.

So do place a cash donation into a nearby Kettle during the fund-raising campaign. The drive runs from late November until Christmas Eve.
